RULES/GUIDELINES
We are an easy going roleplay that recognizes that for a lot of people roleplay is used as a form of entertainment and as a way to get away from the stresses of their real lives. Therefore, we don’t have a million rules, and a lot of these are more guidelines than anything else. This is not a site where you’re going to need templates to post and have set signature requirements or certain word counts- we just don’t run that tight a ship here, but the rules we do have we take very seriously.
1. First and foremost, don’t be a jerk. IC drama is usually fun, as long it’s kept where it belongs, IC. Don’t take things characters do OOC and go ranting and raving about them to the person behind the character. Don’t be rude, don’t be petty, and don’t be a bully. This is meant to be a safe, fun space where we can develop awesome characters with other kickass people. Let’s all be adults and keep it that way. If a problem does escalate, bring it to me and we will sort it out.
2. Due to Proboards terms of service, we are a PG-13 site. This means if your characters want to get down and dirty, you must fade to black. I know, I know, this sucks for all you horn dogs out there, but I’m afraid it’s just how it has to be.
3. Some events will be done rapid fire and without post order for the purpose of keeping the plot moving, keep this in mind when posting in these events.
4. Due to the fact that we try to keep this as stress free as possible, we have no word count. We prefer quality over quantity. Still, try to give your partner something to work with when posting.
5. Absolutely NO GODMODDING/POWERPLAYING. You may not control another character, and no character is all powerful. You also may not maim/torture/kill another character without running it by them first. However, try to keep things realistic. If your character is up against a werewolf at some point, they’re probably going to get hurt and crying to the admins cause little Susie got a scratch isn’t necessary.
6. We are a roleplay that loves and encourages both OCs and Canons!
7. Activity. Please, please, please be active! We get that people have lives but lack of activity only leads to a slow painful death and an admin that wants to cry into her overpriced non-dairy ice cream, so get that posting on. If you’re going to be gone for awhile let us know in the OOC area so that we know you haven’t died on us because I’m not a mom but sometimes I act like I play one on tv.
7b. Aside from letting us know if you're going to be gone, our actual activity rules are pretty lax. If an account makes no posts for 3 months it will be moved to inactive and any claims (face claims, prefect, quidditch, etc) will be up for grabs again. If you decide to come back we will gladly restore the account and if your claims haven't been taken you will be able to remake them.
8. Feel free to tell people who you are and chat everyone and their mother up(maybe not their mother. Idk, maybe their moms are cool. Mine is. I’m an adult, I’m comfortable saying my mom is cool). Or feel free to be anonymous. I respect your right to be a lost soul in a crowd of faceless beings, or to be a shining star who knows who you are. Respect other people’s right to make that decision for themselves though, if they let it be known that they want their anonymity and privacy let them have it.
9. For now there is no set character limit. Your main admin is prone to the muse bug, so she understands that all consuming desire to create yet another character when rationally you really should just have enough of them. This being said, if you’re not keeping up with them, or you’ve created 12 new characters in a week, we’re gonna pull you aside and have a little chat about toning it down a little.
10. When it comes to playbys you are free to use anyone, so long as they have haven’t specifically requested not to be used and as long as they aren’t a random person from somewhere like facebook
11. Like I've said a few times, we're pretty casual around here so in that same vein we encourage your creativity! We want you to have fun and that means letting you spread your wings and write what you want to write as long as you're not gong to crazy with it. However, certain things must be run by the admin(that's me!) first. These things include killing off characters, turning a character into a werewolf or vampire, or pregnancy while still in school.
12. The nature of this site, with it containing vampires and werewolves and the like means there will probably be some bloody content. If that squicks you, I'm very sorry, but this might not be the site for you.
